Damn that liberal media!
Dec. 1st, 2004 12:12 amOnce again they are revealing their immoral liberal agenda by banning a religious advertisement on the grounds that it is "too controversial".
I'm glad Bush is here to stop these abuses of the public trust. Who is going to teach CBS and NBC not to fuck with our freedom of speech? Bush will save us! Go Bush!

WTF?!
Date: 2004-11-30 09:53 pm (UTC)No wait, I'm not. CBS can carry a show whose themes include transgenders, furries, and BDSM and allows that show to be somewhat explicit in doing so, but this ad is controversial?! I want to know exactly who made that decision. I want them to die. Slowly. And painfully.
That the networks are afraid of the wrath of other churches for the ad making them look bad is quite telling. I'm not xian, but I would be very tempted to attend a UCC service... well, maybe once. Hooray for the UCC!
Re: WTF?!
Date: 2004-12-01 02:29 pm (UTC)Which series covers transgenders, furries and BDSM?
And yes, they need to be whacked with a polearm.
Just the highest rated show on broadcast TV.
Date: 2004-12-01 05:23 pm (UTC)Good non-controversial TV, mmmhmmm.
Re: Just the highest rated show on broadcast TV.
Date: 2004-12-02 05:33 am (UTC)It's hard not to, if you have the TV on. There's only what, 30 or 40 different CSI shows and sundry spin-offs/clones?
Bruckheimer is laughing all the way to the bank, methinks, but it still better mindless entertainment than any of those vacuous Survivor types.
What, even Gilligan's Island?!

There was a time (a long time ago) when I had 22k posts there. Seems to me Naruki had more even then, and should have more than a measly 47k by now. I wonder if maybe the stats are screwed up?
Yeah.
Date: 2004-12-01 07:48 am (UTC)He's another festering wound.
Date: 2004-12-01 08:00 am (UTC)Yep. That's me. Festering.
Date: 2004-12-01 10:05 am (UTC)Age? My age?
I was old when dirt was rocks. :P
You're not festering!

So:

Date: 2004-12-01 01:28 pm (UTC)So when is now. :-)
Rats.
Date: 2004-12-01 01:39 pm (UTC)Re: So:
Date: 2004-12-01 02:27 pm (UTC)I'm pretty sure I'm a smidge older than TheWrongCrowd. I'm also pretty sure I'm not the oldest at UF by less than a decade.
That's probably close enough. :P
Decade?
Date: 2004-12-01 03:09 pm (UTC)Re: Decade?
Date: 2004-12-01 03:18 pm (UTC)Don't ask where I got it, as they don't live here and wouldn't be able to give you access to it. (You probably wouldn't care for that whole anal probe business anyway. I was fortunate to be able to buy my way out of it by promising not to reveal Ashley Simpson as one of them.)
If saminz doesn't know how old the oldest UFie is, that certainly isn't my problem. :P
Re: Decade?
Date: 2004-12-01 03:19 pm (UTC)Hmm, I better go. I have a bad feeling about this.
Weelll....
Date: 2004-12-01 11:54 pm (UTC)Re: Weelll....
Date: 2004-12-02 05:37 am (UTC)Just because you're old is no reason not to keep up with pop culture. We need to know what kind of mind rot the kids are using these days, so we can stay ahead of them. :)
Actually, if you don't know who Ashley is, you aren't missing a damned thing.
Ok. Done my part today.
Date: 2004-12-02 05:54 am (UTC)I think if I mention the one person with the serious

Date: 2004-12-01 07:43 am (UTC)Too controversial.. it's hard to believe they really think that little of the American public's IQ.
*remembers 51% vs 49% vote* Well, ok, so it's not THAT hard to believe.
