Once again they are revealing their immoral liberal agenda by banning a religious advertisement on the grounds that it is "too controversial".

I'm glad Bush is here to stop these abuses of the public trust. Who is going to teach CBS and NBC not to fuck with our freedom of speech? Bush will save us! Go Bush!

WTF?!

I'm speechless.

No wait, I'm not. CBS can carry a show whose themes include transgenders, furries, and BDSM and allows that show to be somewhat explicit in doing so, but this ad is controversial?! I want to know exactly who made that decision. I want them to die. Slowly. And painfully.

That the networks are afraid of the wrath of other churches for the ad making them look bad is quite telling. I'm not xian, but I would be very tempted to attend a UCC service... well, maybe once. Hooray for the UCC!

I find it difficult to believe that adiplomat only yelled for the mods 29 times.

Unless, of course, most of the times I'm thinking of he didn't bother with them but simply acted as his own Jr Mod.

There was a time (a long time ago) when I had 22k posts there. Seems to me Naruki had more even then, and should have more than a measly 47k by now. I wonder if maybe the stats are screwed up?

I'd be outraged if I wasn't already outraged to the point of exhaustion.

Too controversial.. it's hard to believe they really think that little of the American public's IQ.

*remembers 51% vs 49% vote* Well, ok, so it's not THAT hard to believe.

Yeah.

He can be a real dramaqueen, that one... "Poor thing". Do you ever go back? I checked your diary (for age ;-)!) and it seems rather dead. Don't tell me you are banned, too?!

He's another festering wound.

Ah, well. Not everyone posts in their diaries all that often, you know.
From: [identity profile] naruki-oni.livejournal.com
Considering the number of times people have pointed that out and also made plenty of other suggestions that have gone completely ignored, maybe it's time he stopped making that post.

Yep. That's me. Festering.

Not banned yet. I drop by on rare occasions to prod the hypocrites and the ignorant.

Age? My age?
I was old when dirt was rocks. :P

You're not festering!

A bit gamey, perhaps, but not festering. That's what I get for using unclear antecedants, I suppose.

Hey! I could be festering if I wanted to!

Hmm..gamey? *sniffs* Eeeww. How'd you know?

So:

Date: 2004-12-01 01:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] saminz.livejournal.com
Will you tell me when those rocks are dirt again ;-)? We might well be the same age, you know... But never mind. I am not nosey. Not me. Nu-uh. No way.

Er...

From: [identity profile] naruki-oni.livejournal.com
"when dirt was rocks" means it's dirt now, but it was rocks a long time ago.

So when is now. :-)

Rats.

Blame it on the burgundy... Then read that as "when that dirt turns to rock again". It does, you know. Depending on glacier movement. Or something. *sigh* Why can I not walk by this little black thing when I am not thinking straight?!

That won't include Evil_Minion so he could well be higher.

Also it's looking for exact text so that could also contribute.

Hmm, how to say without actually stating it?
I'm pretty sure I'm a smidge older than TheWrongCrowd. I'm also pretty sure I'm not the oldest at UF by less than a decade.

That's probably close enough. :P

Apparently I don't watch the same shows you do.

Which series covers transgenders, furries and BDSM?

And yes, they need to be whacked with a polearm.

I own highly specific dating technology which is accurate to within a decade.
Don't ask where I got it, as they don't live here and wouldn't be able to give you access to it. (You probably wouldn't care for that whole anal probe business anyway. I was fortunate to be able to buy my way out of it by promising not to reveal Ashley Simpson as one of them.)

If saminz doesn't know how old the oldest UFie is, that certainly isn't my problem. :P

After pondering advice I received while posting in your Live Journal, I have setup an account and added you as a friend (seeing that I got that advice from people replying in your journal, it's guilt by association).

buddha

Just the highest rated show on broadcast TV.

CSI (original) covered transgenders this season, furries last season, and BDSM the last two seasons (anyone remember Lady Heather?). This season also saw an anime-style artist who bound and tortured, then drew his victims (shown in detail, natch). And that doesn't even count the run of the mill strippers, prostitutes, and serial killers that show up every week.

Good non-controversial TV, mmmhmmm.

There are some that won't tell, after all. And the oldest that does was born 1950. Ergo: You, sir, are at least one year younger than me and not entitled to base your feeling of superiority on age reasons ;-). I am sure you will find plenty others, though. (Reasons, now.) Whole anal business just being part of it, hehehe.... Who the hell is Ashley Simpson anyway? Now, I do know Lisa, and Marge :-P

Oh yeah, I remember a couple of those, and yes, I watch these all the time. *hangs head*

It's hard not to, if you have the TV on. There's only what, 30 or 40 different CSI shows and sundry spin-offs/clones?

Bruckheimer is laughing all the way to the bank, methinks, but it still better mindless entertainment than any of those vacuous Survivor types.

I'd like to think I avoid that particular ego trap in most cases. :)

Just because you're old is no reason not to keep up with pop culture. We need to know what kind of mind rot the kids are using these days, so we can stay ahead of them. :)

Actually, if you don't know who Ashley is, you aren't missing a damned thing.

Ok. Done my part today.

From: [identity profile] saminz.livejournal.com
In keeping up with pop culture. I do know how Ashley looks, at least. I guess that will suffice... Actually, I quite like being "old". I had plenty of "being young". And with a different approach to people nowadays, I find my life more rewarding, even while less passionate. Make sense? Will, soon, maybe ;-)!
