Please do get your Evolution Warning Stickers in case you, too, should be attacked by a secular science teacher working for Satan.

WARNING: Creationist Fuckwads are heavily encouraged to follow that link and choke to death.

UPDATE: Someone showed me these links to Bible Warning Stickers. They're cute.

I'd choke to death, but I actually found many of them funny.

I'm not sure I consider you a CF.

I'd have to know more details of your beliefs in that regard, but I certainly wasn't targetting all Christians. Just the ones who want to push their beliefs on others, and especially the ones who try to make it sound scientific.

Depends. I believe that a greater force created the universe(or at least started the Big Bang), I choose to call that force God, I believe God is omnipotent and omniscient.

I also am open to the rather radical viewpoint that Jesus might just have been a guy from the future. After all.. We've written much we can explain today off as supernatural in the past.

Is He?

If He is, he's got a lot to answer for.

Hm? Which part of my reply are you referring to?

Ah. Well, there's a lot to put Him responsible for. I'm not sure He'll care though.

Note that I don't believe in an omnibenevolent God.
From: [identity profile] naruki-oni.livejournal.com
Or else they can't read.

I don't mind them as long as they don't try to force that belief on others.

So, as long as you aren't one of them, you aren't what I consider a CF.

So far, you're just a harmless religious nut. ;-p
From: [identity profile] krikkert.livejournal.com
I might be a nut by your standards, but over here I'm normal. :P

Heh.. One of the two countries in the world ruled by a priest, and after today I have a confirmation that we have a more liberal view on gay marriages than the US, the land of the free. ^^
From: [identity profile] naruki-oni.livejournal.com
To me, a nut is someone who cannot or will not see reality even when the evidence is presented clearly.

Most people seem to define nut as someone who thinks differently from the majority.

So, even though you're over there, you're still a nut. If you came here, you'd likely be in the same boat. ;-)
From: [identity profile] krikkert.livejournal.com
I see reason. Granted, it is my own twisted reason, but it's still reason.

I fear for the influence you had on me before you were disabled though - Had you been there a few weeks longer, you'd probably have me your faithful follower.

Damn convincing arguments..

Ick.

That's one thing I don't miss. I never wanted followers. I'm much more of a "train them to lead me" kind of person. Never wanted that kind of responsibility.

I understand. I'd rather have companions than followers myself.

But I still plan on taking the Officers' School if I end up in the armed forces. ^^

Or whatever. You really rule, hehehe. No, seriously. One of my own mantras, I swear. I plain refused to even join the city government. And yes, there is a pathetic side to it. But responsibility-dodging might be the one field where I could teach you some...

meant to be one up,

I'd actually respect the literalists...

if they could reconcile all the conflicts.

And how would they do that?!

Date: 2004-11-23 09:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] saminz.livejournal.com
By letting their god appear during the super bowl and declare everything his creation??! And somehow explain the stunt with this Big Bang and all?

He he he.

I didn't say it was possible.

But I was referring specifically to all the self-contradictory crap in the Bible, as well as the stuff that just doesn't make sense.

What is wrong with lions that they should be altered once they go to Heaven? Didn't He make them exactly as they should have been made? Have lions somehow sinned?

Never mind :-)

I am absolutely not in need of further convincing. Might even found the swiss chapter of your fun-sounding little group there, had I any hope that it would change anything. I "spread the gospel" wherever I go, that must be enough, hehehe.

Be sure to coordinate with HFWD.

Though obviously both groups cannot be victorious, there is a common cause. ;-)

Heh. People *would* start looking for the wires and lamps, wouldn't they?
From: [identity profile] naruki-oni.livejournal.com
He'd just wiggle his nose or something and we all would.

Since He doesn't do that, then He doesn't seem to care if we believe or not. And the lack of internal consistency of the stories in the Bible shows that He didn't write it.

That leaves me free to treat it merely as a history written by a primitive people and co-opted later by a slightly more advanced, but still superstitious, people for political reasons.

Whether He really exists or not is immaterial - He hasn't given conclusive proof.
From: [identity profile] krikkert.livejournal.com
I'm not going to argue that point, because I think you're mostly right.

No need to be that nice, here.

That god had written the bible was not the issue, I guess. It was certainly written for political reasons, and by not so primitive schemers... Machiavelli ring a bell ;-)? (Not the person, the mind-frame!)

Yay!
I almost wish I still had kids in school. *weg*

Hopefully, my local schools are not that stupid, although, I DO live in a heavily RC community.
Still, I think the RCs are lightyears ahead of the SB's and Creationists in general. :D

from someone who read the UF comment board more than participated. It's probably been said before but the threads are much less intellectually stimulating since your banning. It seems like fewer good topics are being posted and some of the more interesting people are not posting as often. I'm less compelled to read the board.

take care,
buddha

Danke.

I've noticed when I go to read the comic I've noticed that there is no longer a penalty for being a moron. The easily annoyed have won, despite the warning in the FAQ. In fact, another FAQ rule that isn't really enforced is "no libelous statements". (Let's not even talk about Drama Queening, as it's not in the FAQ proper.) Ah, well. You'd think they'd at least update the list of moderators.

Although, to be honest, I noticed that some interesting people had stopped posting even before I got axed. But none of the interesting people had gotten banned at that time. ;-)

Apparently...
