Date: 2004-11-23 08:14 am (UTC)Re: I'm not sure I consider you a CF.
Date: 2004-11-23 08:18 am (UTC)I also am open to the rather radical viewpoint that Jesus might just have been a guy from the future. After all.. We've written much we can explain today off as supernatural in the past.
Re: I'm not sure I consider you a CF.
Date: 2004-11-23 08:23 am (UTC)If He is, he's got a lot to answer for.

Date: 2004-11-23 08:48 am (UTC)Note that I don't believe in an omnibenevolent God.
All Christians by definition believe in some form of "Creation".
Date: 2004-11-23 08:44 am (UTC)I don't mind them as long as they don't try to force that belief on others.
So, as long as you aren't one of them, you aren't what I consider a CF.
So far, you're just a harmless religious nut. ;-p
Re: All Christians by definition believe in some form of "Creation".
Date: 2004-11-23 08:49 am (UTC)Heh.. One of the two countries in the world ruled by a priest, and after today I have a confirmation that we have a more liberal view on gay marriages than the US, the land of the free. ^^
I have a different definition of nut than some people.
Date: 2004-11-23 09:05 am (UTC)Most people seem to define nut as someone who thinks differently from the majority.
So, even though you're over there, you're still a nut. If you came here, you'd likely be in the same boat. ;-)
Re: I have a different definition of nut than some people.
Date: 2004-11-23 09:07 am (UTC)I fear for the influence you had on me before you were disabled though - Had you been there a few weeks longer, you'd probably have me your faithful follower.
Damn convincing arguments..
Ick.

Date: 2004-11-23 09:18 am (UTC)But I still plan on taking the Officers' School if I end up in the armed forces. ^^
*applauds*
Date: 2004-11-23 09:36 am (UTC)meant to be one up,
Date: 2004-11-23 09:37 am (UTC)I'd actually respect the literalists...
Date: 2004-11-23 09:06 am (UTC)And how would they do that?!
Date: 2004-11-23 09:13 am (UTC)He he he.
Date: 2004-11-23 09:19 am (UTC)But I was referring specifically to all the self-contradictory crap in the Bible, as well as the stuff that just doesn't make sense.
What is wrong with lions that they should be altered once they go to Heaven? Didn't He make them exactly as they should have been made? Have lions somehow sinned?
Never mind :-)
Date: 2004-11-23 09:28 am (UTC)Be sure to coordinate with HFWD.
Date: 2004-11-23 09:32 am (UTC)Re: And how would they do that?!
Date: 2004-11-23 09:19 am (UTC)I figure if God existed and He wanted us to believe that...
Date: 2004-11-23 09:30 am (UTC)Since He doesn't do that, then He doesn't seem to care if we believe or not. And the lack of internal consistency of the stories in the Bible shows that He didn't write it.
That leaves me free to treat it merely as a history written by a primitive people and co-opted later by a slightly more advanced, but still superstitious, people for political reasons.
Whether He really exists or not is immaterial - He hasn't given conclusive proof.
Re: I figure if God existed and He wanted us to believe that...
Date: 2004-11-23 09:32 am (UTC)No need to be that nice, here.
Date: 2004-11-23 09:50 am (UTC)I don't think that was Machiavelli's job.

Date: 2004-11-23 10:32 am (UTC)So you certainly are :-)

Date: 2004-11-23 08:21 am (UTC)I almost wish I still had kids in school. *weg*
Hopefully, my local schools are not that stupid, although, I DO live in a heavily RC community.
Still, I think the RCs are lightyears ahead of the SB's and Creationists in general. :D

Date: 2004-11-24 09:55 am (UTC)Although, to be honest, I noticed that some interesting people had stopped posting even before I got axed. But none of the interesting people had gotten banned at that time. ;-)
Apparently...
